1. When a Full Refund is Available
You are eligible for a 100% refund (including Bah Remit service fees) if:
- The transfer has not yet been paid out or collected by the recipient.
- You cancel within 30 minutes of submission (instant cancellation).
- The transfer failed or was rejected due to Bah Remit or partner error.
2. When a Partial Refund Applies
If the money has already been paid out or collected by the recipient:
- Principal amount cannot be refunded.
- Only the Bah Remit service fee will be returned (minus any third-party fees already incurred).
3. Refund for Incorrect Recipient Details
We will attempt to recall funds sent to wrong recipients, but success is not guaranteed.
- Recall successful → full refund minus recall fees.
- Recall unsuccessful → only service fee refunded.
4. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation
- Via your Bah Remit account → “My Transactions” → “Request Cancellation/Refund”
- Or contact us within 14 days of the transaction.

5. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds are processed within 3–7 business days and returned to the original payment method.
6. Chargeback Policy
We strongly discourage users from filing chargebacks (disputes) with their bank or card issuer instead of contacting Bah Remit first.
a. Valid Reasons for Chargeback (Rare Cases)
Chargebacks may be accepted by your bank/card issuer only if:
- You never authorized the transaction (proven fraud/theft).
- Bah Remit failed to deliver the service and refused a legitimate refund request.
b. Unjustified (“Friendly Fraud”) Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback when the money has already been successfully delivered to the recipient, or when you simply changed your mind, is considered friendly fraud and violates our Terms of Service.
Consequences of unjustified chargebacks:
- Immediate suspension or permanent banning of your Bah Remit account.
- Recovery of the disputed amount plus any bank-imposed chargeback fees (£25–£50 or equivalent).
- Reporting of the incident to relevant fraud-prevention databases and authorities where required by law.
c. Recommended Process
Always contact Bah Remit support first. We resolve 98%+ of issues without the need for a chargeback. Chargebacks delay resolution and harm our ability to serve the community.
7. Non-Refundable Cases
No refund or chargeback reversal will be possible if:
- The recipient has received or withdrawn the funds.
- The transaction was completed exactly as you instructed.
- Fraud or violation of our Terms of Service is detected.
8. Exchange Rate Protection
Eligible cancelled transactions are refunded at the original locked exchange rate.
